Your rooms and terrace on screen, table by table, in the middle of service.
Resatop's floor plan lets you draw your rooms and terrace table by table. Online, each booking gets the smallest free table or combinable tables, and guests can choose between indoors and on the terrace. During service, the floor plan and the booking list sit side by side on your tablet screen.

The whole service on a single screen.
- At-a-glance status colours: light green for an expected booking, dark green with a double tick when reconfirmed, blue as soon as the party arrives, and “Finished” to free the table straight away.
- Combined tables and locking: link several tables to a single booking (surrounded by a yellow outline on the plan) and lock a table with one tap (anchor icon) so it stays put.
- Second-sitting indicator: a table that already has a booking in the service but is still free for another time slot gets a dashed outline, with a direct “Book (free at HH:mm)” button in its side panel.
- Undo / Redo (↶ ↷): a drag-and-drop or lock done by mistake is undone in one tap or with Ctrl+Z.
Indoors or on the terrace: your guests choose, you stay in control.
- Strict availability per zone: when the guest chooses indoors or on the terrace after the party size, the calendar and time slots only show what is genuinely free in that zone for the whole meal.
- One-click weather switch: in Settings › Floor plan, untick “Open to self-service bookings” on your terrace to close it immediately to online bookings, the phone assistant and the waiting list.
- Your team keeps control: even when closed online, the terrace stays open on your floor plan so your team can seat guests there if the sun comes back.
Quota mode or table mode: switch whenever you like.
| Quota mode | Table mode (floor plan) | |
|---|---|---|
| What opens a time slot online | The slot quota, the service cap and, if set, the simultaneous dining room capacity | The slot quota AND at least one free table (or 2 to 3 neighbouring combinable tables) for the whole meal duration |
| Indoors or terrace choice | Not offered online | Offered to the guest when turned on, with one-click online terrace closure |
| When a party leaves early | The time-slot quota stays used | The “Finished” status frees the table straight away (and triggers the waiting list if active) |
| Bookings entered by your team | Saved in one click, even above the quota | Automatic or finger-dragged table assignment, combined tables, walk-ins and table blocks |
In three steps.
Step 1 · Setup
You draw your rooms and terrace
In Settings › Floor plan, you place round, square or rectangular tables with a mouse or finger, mark combinable tables and set your table times per service. You can switch between quota mode and table mode whenever you like: the plan is kept.
Step 2 · During service
Your guests choose indoors or on the terrace
Online, the page only offers a time slot if a table (or combinable tables side by side) is free for the whole meal. If you turn it on, the guest chooses between indoors and on the terrace; one switch closes the terrace to online bookings on rainy days while letting your team seat guests there.
Step 3 · Guest side
Your team runs the floor on a single screen
In the planner, the floor plan sits on the left and the booking list on the right. You drag a booking onto a table, combine several tables (linked by a yellow outline), lock a table so it is not reassigned automatically, undo a mistake (↶) and mark “Finished” to free the table as soon as guests leave.

What the product does today, and what it does not: better to know before you try it.
- Table mode also uses your time-slot quotas as a safeguard for the kitchen: a free table will not be offered online if the time slot's quota is reached.
- Automatic table combinations online group up to three neighbouring combinable tables in the same room. Your team, however, can link any tables freely on the plan, even across two rooms.
- On the floor plan, your team stays in control: a table's capacity is only a guide and never blocks, and on an already taken table the planner simply asks for confirmation.
- Dragging and table actions on the floor plan require a network connection (offline, Resatop Relais keeps the list view, arrivals, no-shows, cancellations and new bookings).
- The choice between indoors and on the terrace is only offered online when the restaurant is in table mode, the option is turned on and at least one table is open online in each zone.

How does Resatop assign tables to online bookings?
For each online booking, Resatop first looks for the smallest table open online that fits for the whole meal duration. If no single table is large enough, it combines two or three neighbouring tables marked as combinable in the same room. If the guest chose indoors or on the terrace, only tables in that zone are considered.
Can I close my terrace to online bookings when the weather turns?
Yes. In Settings › Floor plan, the “Open to self-service bookings” switch closes the terrace to online bookings, guest changes, the phone assistant and the waiting list, without touching existing bookings or stopping your team from seating guests there.
How do I see whether a booked table can take a second sitting?
On the floor plan, a table that already has a booking in the service but is still free for another time slot is surrounded by a dashed outline. Tapping the table opens the left-hand panel with a direct “Book (free at HH:mm)” action on the first available slot.
Can I stop a booking from changing table automatically?
Yes. Any booking placed on the floor plan can be locked (anchor icon) by the owner, the Manager or the floor staff so its table is not reassigned. And if you move or change tables by mistake on the plan, the Undo and Redo buttons (↶ ↷ or Ctrl+Z) step back.
What happens when a table finishes its meal earlier than expected?
You set the booking to “Finished” from the table panel or the list: the table becomes free straight away for the rest of the service and, if you have turned on the waiting list, Resatop can immediately offer it to the next party waiting.
